What's In Trevor Immelman's Golf Bag - 2008 Masters
Trevor Immelman won his 1st career PGA Major tour event last weekend by winning the 2008 Masters at Augusta National in Augusta, Georgia. Do you want to know what Trevor was carrying in his golf bag during the win?
Driver: Nike SUMO 5000
4 Wood: Nike SQ II 17°
Hybrid: Nike SUMO 21°
Irons: 4-PW Nike CCI cast
GW: Nike SV 50°

Trevor played some solid golf on Sunday under extreme playing conditions with the wind gusting to 35 mph, but that came to an end when he reached the par 3 16th. He put his tee shot into the water and walked away with a double-bogey and only a 3-shot lead, but by then everyone else had faded and his 3-over 75 gave him a 3-shot victory. Tiger showed his golf mortality on the back nine by missing about 4 putts in the 6 to 8 foot range and added a 3-putt, but he still managed to shoot a par 72 and take second place. Brandt Snedeker played his heart out, but finished with a 5-over 77 and 3rd place. Steve Flesch faded on the back nine and shot a 79. Immelman took home $1,350,000 for the win.
Immelman was the man to beat from Day 1. He became the first champion in 24 years to win after being the first-round co-leader.

What's In Tiger Woods' Golf Bag - 2008 Arnold Palmer
Tiger Woods won his 64th career PGA tour event last weekend by winning the 2008 Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill Club and Lodge in Orlando, Florida. Do you want to know what Sean was carrying in his golf bag during the win?
Driver: Nike SQ Tour 7.5°
3 Wood: Nike SQ II 15°
5 Wood: Nike SQ II 19°
Irons: (3-PW) Nike Blades with True Temper Dynamic Gold X-100
SW: Pro Combo 56°
LW: SV Tour 60°
Putter: Scotty Cameron by Titleist TW prototype
Ball: Nike One Platinum featuring Power Transfer Technology
Tiger's win ties him with the great Ben Hogan on the all-time winning list. He's now chasing Jack Nicklaus with 73 wins and then Sam Snead with 82 wins.
Tiger started off the tournament with some control problems, but managed to get things back on track on Friday with a 2-under 68 in very windy conditions. He shot a 66 on Saturday to put him in a 5-way tie for first and in the last group with Sean O'Hair, who had won the PODS Championship the week before. O'Hair got into the last group by shooting a 7-under 63.
Tiger looked solid all day Sunday except for a 3-putt from 5 feet. Going into 18 Tiger was tied with Bart Bryant at 9-under. Woods hit his 3-wood down the left side of the fairway to open up his approach shot to the green. His approach shot from 167 yards landed pin high about 24 feet left of the pin. He had a downhill left to right putt to negotiate a tie or a win. Long story short Tiger drained the 24-footer for his 6th consecutive win and he left everyone in sheer disbelief that he did it again.
Tiger took home $1,044,000 for the win and added 25,000 points to his first place point total in the race for the FedEx Cup. All I can say is amazing! Tiger truly is immortal among the golfing world.

What's In Sean O'Hair's Golf Bag - 2008 PODS
Sean O'Hair won his 2nd career PGA tour event last weekend by winning the 2008 PODS Championship at Copperhead Golf Course in Tampa Bay, Florida. Do you want to know what Sean was carrying in his golf bag during the win?
Driver: TaylorMade Burner 9.5°
3 Wood: TaylorMade V Steel 15°
5 Wood: TaylorMade r7 17.5°
Irons: (3-9) TaylorMade r7
GW Wedge: TaylorMade rac 48°
SW Wedge: TaylorMade rac 54°
LW Wedge: TaylorMade rac 58°
Putter: TaylorMade Rossa Monza Spider
Ball: TaylorMade TP Red
Sean shot a final round of 2-under 69 winning by 2-strokes. O'Hair had a little help thanks to Stewart Sink's meltdown on the final 4 holes. Stewart played the final 4 holes in 4 over pair and basically handed the tournament to O'Hair on a silver platter. O'Hair finished his round strong with a birdie and two good pars. Sink finished in a 6-way tie for 2nd place. Sean took home $954,000 for the win and a great start for the 2008 season. The win also gave him 2,500 points towards the FedEx Cup.

What's In K.J. Choi's Golf Bag - 2008 Sony Open
K.J. Choi won his 7th PGA tour event last weekend by winning the 2008 Sony Open at East Waialae Country Club Honolulu, Hawaii. Do you want to know what K.J. was carrying in his golf bag during the win?
Driver: Nike SQ SUMO 5000 with Mitsubishi Bassara shaft
3 Wood: TaylorMade Burner TP 13°
Hybrid: Nike T 100 17°
Irons: (3,4) Nike Ignite
Irons: (5-PW) Nike Blades
SW: Nike Pro Combo 54°
LW: Nike SV 60°
Putter: Odyssey Tri-Hot 2 with SuperStroke Putter Grip
Ball: Nike ONE Platinum Power Transfer Layer
Choi shot a final round of 1-over 71, which was the first time in 41 years that someone has shot a final round over par to win the tournament. K.J. went wire-to-wire with his win, but it wasn't easy because Rory Sabbatini made a run Sunday. Under the extremely windy conditions Rory managed to get 6 birdies, but also had a double-bogey. He 3-putted the par 5 18th from 65 feet, which was for eagle and it would have put him in a tie. K.J. finished at 14-under, which was 3 shots ahead of Sabbatini. Choi took home $954,000 for the win and a great start for the 2008 season.

Cleveland CG Red Irons As A Gift
At first I wasn't sure about the red insert in the cavity back of the iron, but once you're at address you don't even and see it. The club is very attractive looking at set up and it has nice top line.
The CG Red's are a very solid golf club. They do well with off center hits and they're pretty accurate too. I hit probably hit the CG Red's a couple yards longer than my TA2's, but that wasn't the reason I asked for them for Christmas. These irons are just as workable as the TA2's so I'm looking forward to getting a few more rounds under my belt.
I've always liked Cleveland's irons and I felt the CG Red's were the next step to take because 6 years of technology these days in the golf club industry can make a couple of strokes difference in your game. So I had to hang up my TA2's and put the CG Red's in my bag. I had them shafted with Stiff True Temper Dynamic Gold with Sensicore shafts, which are what I had in my TA2's. I almost went with the Black Gold shafts, and even though I read some nice reviews about these shafts I decided to stick with what has been working.
I did look into the Project X shafts, but I read a lot of mixed reviews on them from other golfers so I didn't want to take the chance.
If you're on the fence about the CG Red's then I hope this helped you in your decision.

Another Winter Of Golf Is Coming
Another winter is just around the corner and that means no golf for a lot of people around the country. Even though I live in Southern California, I find myself playing less golf during this time.
I can imagine for those of you who are in colder climates that not being able to play golf during this time is hard... or maybe you're used to it now.
If you're one of these golfers I'd like to hear from you to see what you do to get yourself through the winter without golf.
Do you hit golf balls into a net in your garage?
Do you practice putting on your carpet in the house?
Let me know.

Here Are The Presidents Cup Teams
The 2007 Presidents Cup starts this Thursday (Sept 27th) at the Royal Montreal in Canada. Team USA takes their 4-1-1 record into Canada against the International Team. Below are the 12 man teams for both sides.
Team USA
- Tiger Woods - What can you say about Tiger. Seven wins, 1 major, numerous records, and 1 playoff championship title.
- Jim Furyk - He had 1 win and eight top-10's with a runner-up finish at the U.S. Open.
- Phil Mickelson - He won a couple tournaments, but Phil is Phil... anything can happen.
- Zack Johnson - He had his first major at the Masters and his second AT&T Classic. Tied for second in the TOUR Championship with Steve Stricker.
- Charles Howell III - Ended five year win-less drought by winning the Nissan Open and beating Mickelson.
- David Toms - He didn't win this year and he had only 2 top-5 finishes.
- Scott Verplank - He had 9 top-10's and a victory at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship.
- Steve Stricker - Without a doubt the most improved player on the tour this year. Finished 2nd behind Tiger Woods for the FedEx Cup.
- Stewart Cink - He had 6 top-10's in 23 starts and qualified for the TOUR Championship, but a rather disappointing season.
- Woody Austin - He made the team by finishing runner-up at the PGA Championship. Won the Stanford St. Jude Championship in Memphis with a closing round of 62.
- Hunter Mahan - He won the Travelers Championship for his first PGA Tour win. Tied for fifth in TOUR Championship.
- Lucas Glover - He was a captain's pick with a very weak season. Only 3 top-10's in 27 starts.
International Team
- Ernie Els - He didn't have a very good year with a 2nd at the Verizon and tied for fourth at the British Open.
- Adam Scott - He won the Shell Houston Open and a runner-up at the Mercedes Championship.
- Vijay Singh - He had 2 early wins in the season, but missed back-to-back cuts and he's fallen to 12th in the world.
- Geoff Ogilvy - He had 6 top-10's in 22 starts, but no wins.
- Rory Sabbatini - He made a name for himself this year on and off the course. Won at the Colonial and had five other top-3 finishes. Finished in the top-10 in the World Golf Rankings.
- K.J. Choi - He had a great year with wins at The Memorial and The AT&T National. Finished 5th on the money list.
- Retief Goosen - He has a quiet year with the only bright spot at Augusta finishing runner-up to Zack Johnson.
- Angel Cabrera - He had the stunning victory at the U.S. Open at Oakmont by holding of Tiger Woods. Hasn't done anything since the win.
- Tevor Immelman - He didn't do that much this season other than finishing 3rd at the WGC-Match Play and in Maui.
- Stuart Appleby - He had an up and down season. He had a chance to win his fourth consecutive Mercedes Championship, but let it slip away.
- Nick O'Hern - His only highlight was defeating Tiger Woods in 20 holes at the WGC-Match Play event.
- Mike Weir - He'll have a lot of pressure on his shoulders after Gary Player chose him as a captain's. He had only two top-10's and currently ranks outside the top 40 in the World Golf Rankings.pick.
Team USA looks very strong again and I see them holding up the Presidents Cup come Sunday afternoon.
Do you agree?

What's In Tiger's Golf Bag - 2007 Tour Championship
Tiger Woods won his 61st PGA tour event last weekend by winning the 2007 THE TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club Atlanta, Georgia. This was the final leg of the PGA Tour Playoffs called the FedEx Cup. Tiger posted all 4 rounds in the 60's for the second week in a row and took home the FedEx Cup, which was his 7th win of the year. Do you want to know what Tiger was carrying in his golf bag during his win?

Tiger shot a final round 66 to win by an astounding 8-strokes. He played at a level that we haven't seen since 2000, which is basically untouchable. He finished at 23-under par with Mark Calcavecchia and Zack Johnson at 15-under. Tiger took home $1,260,000 for the win and went above $10 million for the year. He also won the $10 million dollar bonus prize for winning the inaugural PGA Tour Playoffs FedEx Cup. Steve Stricker held on to 2nd place in the FedEx Cup standings and took home $3 million with Phil Mickelson finishing 3rd.

Is Tiger Woods The Best Golfer Ever?
To me this is a ludicrous question. How can anyone think that he's not the best golfer that has ever played the game. Just like he did in 2000, Tiger is playing at a level that's untouchable by other golfers. It's almost like watching a professional golfer playing in an amateur golf tournament and lapping the field.
At the Tournament Players Championship this weekend Tiger looked invincible. He cruised to an 8-shot victory and placed first in the FedEx Cup standings collecting $1.26 million and $10 million dollars respectively.
Tiger has won 61 PGA Tour events and 1 shy of Arnold Palmer's 62 career wins, but you have to remember Tiger has done it in only 11 years. At this pace Tiger will pass Sam Snead's 82 career wins in about 4 years.
As a golfer you have to admire how good he is. He's untouchable when he's playing at his best and the rest of the PGA Tour will probably go back to the mindset of playing for second, which is what most players had conceded to during the 2000 PGA Tour season (the last time Tiger completely dominated the tour).
Some golf analysts say that Tiger is in his prime and that he could run off 4, 5, or more wins in a row several times throughout the years to come. Who knows he may win 12 in a row and eclipse Byron Nelson's record of 11 victories in a row. To hear Johnny Miller praise another golfer is rare. He typically has something negative to say about every golfer, but with Tiger I can see that he's in complete awe of his abilities.
All I can say is WOW! Tiger Woods is without a doubt the best golfer to ever play the game and I feel privileged to watch history being made in the sport that I love.

What's In Tiger's Golf Bag - 2007 BMW
Tiger Woods won his 60th PGA tour event last weekend by winning the 2007 BMW Championship at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club Lemont, Illinois. Tiger posted all 4 rounds in the 60's. Do you want to know what Tiger was carrying in his golf bag during his win?

Tiger shot a final round 63 to win by 2-strokes, but Steve Stricker and Aaron Baddeley put the pressure on early in the round by matching birdie for birdie with Tiger. Tiger pretty much shut the door on the par 3 12th by draining a 50-footer for birdie. Tiger made 3 more birdies going in to finish at -22 under, which is a tournament record. Tiger took home $1,260,000 for the win and went above $9 million for the year. He also hit the $75 million dollar career earnings mark in only 11 years on the tour.
