Here are the Top 10 Hottest Golf Clubs for the month of Sept 2009. These were the hottest golf clubs in demand during the month of September. Do you know which one is the hottest?
1. Callaway Golf X-20 Iron Set
2. Ping Eye 2 Iron set
3. Ping G10 Driver
4. TaylorMade Burner 460 Driver
5. TaylorMade R9 Driver
6. TaylorMade Tour Burner Driver
7. TaylorMade r7 Iron set
8. Ping G10 Iron set
9. Ping G5 Iron set
10. TaylorMade r7 460 Driver
There weren't many changes in the Top 10 hottest golf clubs since August. The same top 10 golf clubs are in this months report as they were in last months. The Callaway Golf X-20 Iron Set is still in the number spot over the Ping Eye 2 iron set, which was in the #1 spot for 2 years.
Only a couple golf clubs moved positions and it was only up or down a spot... So nothing too exciting to report this month. Hopefully we'll see some new clubs in the Top 10 next month. TaylorMade still has 5 of the top 10 golf clubs, which is pretty amazing.
Just in case you missed it, here's my post of The Hottest Golf Clubs Aug 2009, which is how the top 10 clubs finished for the month of August 2009.

There were a lot of changes since my last post for the Hotest Golf Clubs. The first time in over 2 years the Ping Eye 2 iron set has lost it's #1 spot. It was replaced by the Callaway Golf X-20 Iron Set. The Ping G10 Driver made the biggest move from #9 to #3. The Ping G5 Iron set dropped the most from #5 to #10.
What's really amazing is that TaylorMade had 5 of the top 10 golf clubs this month and Ping followed close behind with 4.
Just in case you missed it, here's my post of The Hottest Golf Clubs Mar 2009, which is how the top 10 clubs finished for the month of March 2009.

What's In Y.E. Yang's Golf Bag - 2009 PGA Championship
Y.E. Yang won his first PGA major event last weekend by winning the 2009 PGA Championship at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota. Do you want to know what Y.E. was carrying in his golf bag during the win?
Driver: TaylorMade R7 Limited (8.5 degrees with Aldila NV 75 shaft)
3-wood: TaylorMade Burner (13 degrees)
5-wood: TaylorMade V Steel (18 degrees with Honma ARMAQ shaft)
Hybrids: TaylorMade Rescue TP (19 and 21 degrees with Aldila Hybrid NV Hyb 105 shafts)
Irons: 5-PW TaylorMade r7
Wedge: TaylorMade rac (48 degrees)
Wedge: Nike SV (58 degrees)
Putter: Odyssey White Hot 2-Ball
Ball: TaylorMade TP Red LDP
There's not a whole lot I can say that hasn't been already said about Tiger losing his first major when holding the 54-hole lead. The flat-stick is what brought Tiger to his knees on Sunday when he shot a 3-over 75 with 33 putts. I believe he had 11 putts around the 10-foot range and he only made 1 of them.
You have to give a lot of credit to Y.E. Yang though. He held his own and played with a lot of confidence while matched up against Tiger in the final round on Sunday. The turning point was on 13 and 14 when Tiger missed and 8-footer for birdie and Y.E. made about an 8-footer for par. On 14 Y.E. chipped in from about 60 feet for an eagle and Tiger could only make birdie.
On 18, Tiger new he had to make birdie to have any chance of a sudden death with Y.E. Y.E. hit his approach shot first from 206 yards with a 3-hybrid and it was a career shot that ended up 8 feet from the hole. Tiger hit his approach into the left rough with his chip missing by 10-feet. Y.E. made his put for birdie and Tiger missed his putt for par... and Y.E. was the 2009 PGA Champion shooting a 2-under 70 and finishing up at 8-under, which was 3 ahead of 2nd place Tiger.
I think this loss is going to motivate Tiger even more and the players on the PGA tour better take the game to the next level... or they'll be playing for 2nd place every weekend.

What's In Tiger Woods' Golf Bag - 2009 WGC Bridgestone Invitational
Tiger Woods won his 70th career PGA tour event last weekend by winning the 2009 WGC - Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio. Do you want to know what Tiger was carrying in his golf bag during the win?
Driver: Nike SQ Dymo 380 prototype (10.5 degrees with Mitsubishi Diamana Whiteboard 83x shaft)
3-wood: Nike SQ2 (15 degrees with Mitsubishi Diamana Blueboard 103x shaft)
5-wood: Nike SQ2 (19 degrees with Mitsubishi Diamana Blueboard 103x shaft)
Irons: Nike Forged Blades (3-PW) (True Temper Dynamic Gold X100 shafts)
SW: Nike VR (56 degrees)
LW: Nike SV (60 degrees)
Putter: Scotty Cameron by Titleist Newport 2
Ball: Nike One Tour
Tiger played very well during the first 3 days, but played almost flawlessly on Sunday. Padraig Harrington had a 3-shot lead going into Sunday, but Tiger erased that lead by the 4th hole with an eagle and birdie.
The match was very tight until they came to the par 5 667-yard 16th hole where both Tiger and Padraig were put on the clock. Harrington had a 1-shot lead, but missed his drive to the right and hit a poor punch shot that left him with a difficult 3rd shot into the green. Tiger missed the fairway to the left and had to punch out. Tiger hit his approach shot with an 8-iron 182 yards to within a foot. Padraig hit his approach shot over the green, which left him with a very difficult downhill flop shot out of some deep rough. Harrington feeling a bit hurried because of being on the clock hit his flop into the water and ended up carding a triple-bogey 8. Tiger carded a birdie 4 and took a 3-shot lead and the tournament was over.
On 18, Tiger made a comment to Padriag saying that he was sorry that the PGA official put them on the clock. Tigers' comment stirred up some controversy about the PGA officials ruling on 16. With Tiger and Padraig being the last group on the course and battling it out... should they have been put on the clock? A lot of people say no because it affected the outcome of the tournament.

Top 10 Hottest Golf Clubs Mar 2009
Here are the Top 10 Hottest Golf Clubs for the month of Mar 2009. These were the hottest golf clubs in demand during the month of March. Do you know which one is the hottest?
1. Ping Eye 2 Iron set
2. Callaway Golf X-20 Iron Set
3. TaylorMade r7 Iron set
4. Callaway Golf X-18 Iron Set
5. Ping G5 Iron set
6. TaylorMade RAC OS Iron set
7. Titleist Vokey Spin Milled Wedge
8. TaylorMade Burner 460 Driver
9. Ping G10 Driver
10. Mizuno T-Zoid Pro Forged Iron set
Well the Ping Eye 2 iron set is still the #1 sought after golf club 2 years and running! The Titleist Vokey Spin Milled Wedge has dropped from #2 to #7. I have two of the Vokey's in my bag and they're great wedges.
The golf club that moved up the most was the Callaway Golf X-18 Iron Set. Other than that all of the other golf clubs didn't move that much. There's a new golf club that's made it into the top 10 and that's the Mizuno T-Zoid Pro Forged Iron set. Again, both Taylormade and Ping have 3 of the top 10 golf products this month while Callaway has 2 of the top 10.
Just in case you missed it, here's my post of The Hottest Golf Clubs Jan 2009, which is how the top 10 clubs finished for the month of January 2009.

Top 10 Hottest Golf Clubs Jan 2009
Here are the Top 10 Hottest Golf Clubs for the month of Jan 2009. These were the hottest golf clubs in demand during the month of January. Taylormade owns 40% of the clubs in the top 10. Do you know which one is the hottest?
1. Ping Eye 2 Iron set
2. Titleist Vokey Spin Milled Wedge
3. Callaway Golf X-20 Iron Set
4. TaylorMade RAC OS Iron set
5. Ping G5 Iron set
6. TaylorMade r7 Iron set
7. TaylorMade Burner 460 Driver
8. Callaway Golf X-18 Iron Set
9. Ping G10 Driver
10. TaylorMade RAC OS 2005 Iron set
Guess what? The Ping Eye 2 iron set is the #1 sought after golf club! I know it's a shocker. The Ping Eye 2 has been the #1 most sought after club for over 2 years and running. The Titleist Vokey Spin Milled Wedge has held the #2 spot for a few months now. I have both the 56 and 60 degree Vokey Spin Milled wedges and they're a great wedge.
There's actually a tie for the hottest golf club of the month. Both the Callaway Golf X-20 Iron Set and the Ping G5 Iron set jumped up 4 positions in the top 10. The Callaway Golf X-18 Iron Set fell from the #5 spot down to #8. Both Taylormade and Ping have 3 of the top 10 golf products this month.
Just in case you missed it, here's my post of The Hottest Golf Clubs Nov 2008, which is how the top 10 clubs finished for the month of November 2008.

TaylorMade Tour Preferred Irons - The Best Irons Money Can Buy
In my last post I stated that I had ordered a set of the new TaylorMade Tour Preferred Irons. Well they came in and I've played 3 rounds with them and all I can say is WOW!
These are by far the best looking irons I've ever hit. They just look solid and they set up beautifully. I first hit them on the range and found myself hitting them about 5-10 yards farther than my Cleveland Reds. The off-center hits were pretty straight and long as well.
My first round I shot 78 and I have to say I was still trying to get use to the difference in length. I couldn't really complain because the ball comes off the face like butter. I struck the ball very well all day, but I was long a few too many times.
In my second round I shot another 78. The front nine I still felt like I was adjusting to the Tour Preferred irons, but on the back nine things started to click. I started to dial the irons in and hit 7 out of 9 greens and shot 36. I was feeling pretty good and couldn't wait to play with them again.
My third round was absolutely awesome. Except for 1 triple-bogey (OB), I played flawless on the front nine shoting 39, but it was on the back nine that I really started to jell with these Tour Preferred's. I hit 8 of 9 greens and shot 33 with 3 birdies and 6 pars for a even par 72.
If you haven't tried hitting these I definitely suggest you go to your local golf shop and hit them... and if you're on the fence about buying them all I can say is what are you waiting for?

Taylormade Tour Preferred Irons
I just ordered a set of custom Taylormade Tour Preferred Irons from Golfsmith. It was between the Tour Preferred and the Callaway X Forged. I liked both sets, but the Tour Preferred were much more forgiving on miss hits. I purposely tried to hit a few shots towards the the toe and heel and the shots with the Tour Preferred were more tightly dispersed and they only had a minor reduction in distance compared to the X Forged.
Can't wait to play a few rounds with them. I'll post back after my first round to give my feedback.
